Counselling Process - State Quota
First Round
- The first round of seat allotment will be conducted online by DME Tripura.
- If a candidate is allotted a seat, they must take admission at the allotted college. However, if they choose not to accept the seat, they are still eligible for the Second Round and Mop Up Round as the first round allows for a free exit.
- Candidates must visit the DME Tripura office to obtain the allotment letter and then take admission in the allotted college.
- If no seat is allotted, candidates will be eligible for the Second Round and Mop Up Round.
Second Round:
- In 2019, registration was not reopened in the second round, but in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, 2024, fresh registration was reopened.
- This round also allows for upgrading of seats from the first round.
- Security money must be deposited.
- Candidates who deposit the security money must re-fill their choices for the second round.
- Seat allotment occurs online. If a seat is allotted, candidates must take admission; otherwise, they may participate in the Mop Up Round, but the security deposit will be forfeited.
- Candidates allotted a seat in the second round can participate in the Mop Up Round after surrendering their second round seat with forfeiture of the security deposit. If admitted to a second round seat, their counseling for the academic session ends.
Mop Up Round:
- Fresh registration will be allowed in this round.
- Candidates who did not receive a seat in the First and Second Rounds are eligible.
- Those who joined seats in the first or second rounds are not eligible, but if they did not join their allotted seat, the security deposit will be forfeited and they are eligible for the Mop Up Round.
- The Mop Up Round will be conducted online.
Stray Vacancy Round:
- A Stray Vacancy Round may be conducted if seats remain vacant after the Mop Up Round.
- This round could be conducted offline by the admitting institutions of Tripura or online by the counseling committee, as announced in due course.
- No fresh registration will be available in this round. Only candidates already registered in Rounds 1, 2, or 3 are eligible to participate.
