National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET 2024 results and cutoff on June 4, 2024, with a significant increase in the qualifying cutoff for each category compared to the last year. This increase is due to a high number of top candidates, resulting in higher cutoffs for medical colleges. Due to result controversies, a further re-neet exam was held on June 23, 2024, and the official results were announced on July 1, 2024, with the NEET cutoff remaining the same. The merit list was updated, reducing the number of toppers from 67 to 61.
As per reports, the NEET 2024 counselling process, conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), will start from 1st Aug 2024 (Tentative). The MCC will complete the seat matrix and issue a complete counselling schedule soon. State counselling authorities will conduct counselling for 85% of seats in government medical colleges and 100% of seats in private medical colleges. Meanwhile, the MCC will conduct the remaining 15% of seats from the All India Quota.
NEET 2024 qualifying cutoffs vary from 720-162 for the general category to 142-127 for the ST PH category. As the counselling dates approach, candidates are recommended to check the MCC’s official website, MCC.nic.in, for the most recent notifications on registration, application processes, and the whole counselling schedule.
