Major Update on Private MBBS Colleges’ Fees in Uttar Pradesh

There is a significant update from Uttar Pradesh regarding the fees for non-minority private MBBS colleges for the 2024-25  session. A committee was formed on June 12 to reassess the fees, and now the final report from this committee has been released.

No Change in Fees

No colleges submitted any requests regarding fee changes. Therefore, the fees set for the 2023-24 session will remain the same for the 2024-25 session. Although there was a possibility of a fee increase, ultimately, the fees have not been raised. For the past three years, the MBBS fees in Uttar Pradesh have remained unchanged.

Hostel and Mess Charges

Hostel fees include mess charges. No more than two candidates will be allowed per room. Students will be provided with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which will be nutritious and varied. The security deposit, which covers the hospital library, laboratory, and other security deposits, is ₹3 lakh.

Additional Charges

There is an additional fee of ₹8,5600 per year for other charges. Apart from this, colleges cannot charge any other fees. Examination fees are also specified. In Uttar Pradesh, some colleges charge ₹50,000 per year as examination fees, and many have hidden fees. Therefore, it is essential to research properly when selecting a college.

BDS Fees Also Announced

The fees for BDS courses have also been announced. For minority colleges, the detailed fee structure has not been released yet, but it is expected that there will be no change in fees here as well.

Newly Approved Colleges

Some private colleges in Uttar Pradesh have received approval for the 2024-25 session. However, 13 government colleges have not yet been approved, and the government is continuously working on this. If these 1300 government seats are not available, it will be a significant loss, especially when the merit is very high.

Impact on Cut Offs

The unchanged fees in private colleges are good news, but this will also impact the cut offs, which may be higher.

This update provides important information about the MBBS fees in private colleges in Uttar Pradesh, offering relief to students and parents that there will be no fee increase.
