There are over 33 medical colleges and about 27 dental colleges in Kerala. The number of medical seats to be admitted with Kerala NEET Counselling is 6687 and dental seats to get admitted is 2390.  The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) of Kerala will oversee the admission process for 85% of the state quota seats in various medical and allied medical courses throughout Kerala. Kerala NEET Counselling 2024 Procedure

Counselling Registrations 

Step 1: Registration

  • Visit the official website: https://cee.kerala.gov.in/ 
  • Create a new account by providing basic details.
  • You'll receive a unique application number and password.
  • Remember your credentials for future logins.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

  • Carefully enter all required information, including educational details, category, and contact details.
  • Double-check all entries for accuracy before submitting.

Step 3: Pay the Application Fee

  • Make the payment through an online gateway or e-Challan using the specified method.

Step 4: Upload Documents

  • Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and your signature in JPG format.
  • Scan and upload all necessary certificates supporting your claims (e.g., category, domicile).
  • Combine multiple documents for the same claim into a single PDF if needed.

Step 5: Print Acknowledgement

  • After completing the steps above, print the application acknowledgement page for your records.

Counselling Process 

Step 1: Option Registration (Round 1):

  • All eligible candidates can register their preferred colleges for MBBS/BDS courses.
  • Pay the option registration fee (the amount will be paid).
  • A fee is adjusted against the tuition fee if you get a seat.
  • Report to the allotted college within the specified timeframe if you get a seat in Round 1.

Step 2: Option Confirmation (Round 2):

  • If you registered options in Round 1, you can confirm or modify them in Round 2.
  • No fresh registration is needed.
  • Confirm existing options or rearrange/delete unwanted ones.
  • Cancel all remaining options if satisfied with Round 1 allotment.
  • You can also exit the Round 2 seat if you choose.

Step 3: Mop-Up Round (Fresh Registration):

  • Open to candidates who:
  • Exited their Round 1/2 seat.
  • Didn't register options in Round 1 or get a seat in Round 1/2.
  • Pay a mop-up registration fee.
  • Others who continued in admitted status are not eligible.

Step 4: Stray Vacancy Round (No Registration):

  • Fills vacant seats remaining after Mop-Up Round.
  • Not open to candidates with previous allotments.
  • Options from the Mop-Up Round are considered.
  • Conducted at the college level based on CEE guidelines.
  • Contact colleges directly for admission and fee details.

NEET Counselling 2024 primarily consists of Registrations, Choice filling, Choice Locking, Seat Allotment, Commencement of Round of Counselling, Upgradation, and Reporting to Colleges which very Step to follow to ensure the a smooth and effective way to complete counselling and get admitted to your desired colleges, and making your dream come true as a medical aspirant, Here’re some about steps to follow during Counselling Process;

Step 1: Registration 

  • The first and Foremost step to follow for Counselling is registration, Visit to the Medical Counselling Committee’s official website (Click Here).
  • Then Locate the Registration link named ‘UG Counselling Registrations’ and Click on it
  • After registration link has opened carefully filled up the registration form mentioning you personal details, academic details and other important details.
  • After filling out registration form, make the payment for registration in make payment Section using the debit card or UPI.
  • Once the payment is done, you will have the ‘preview’ where you can preview the registration and check whether details you have provided are correct or Not. Once you checked all the details you have provided click on ‘okay’. Take printout of the registration or download pdf form for future references 
  • Once registration is done click on the log out from the registration and move onward to choice filling Sections 

Step 2: Choice Filling 

  • Upon registration, the next step to follow is ‘Choice Filling’ where you can choose list of Medical and dental colleges of your choice ensuring the best options for medical journey 
  • After registration. Login again for the choice filling  with details you have provided during registration.
  • Once you have logged in to choice filling, now you can fillied up choices for list of collehges which are best suited for you. 
  • There is no limit for the list of choices you can select.
  • Onces the choice filling is done move on to Choice locking section.

Step 3: Choice Locking 

  • Once you selected all your perferred choice move on to the Choic Locking section ensuring that choices you have selected will be used in first round of NEET Counselling.
  • Once you checked thoroughly through your selected preference, start locking all the colleges.
  • Once you have locked all the choices, you can’t change the preference until the next round of counseling so carefully lock the choices

Step 4: Rounds of Counselling 

 The counselling for medical and dental will be conducted with four rounds of Counselling while each round follows typical steps such as registration (for the first round only. Auto Consideration for the other rounds), Choice filling and locking, seat allotment, result, and document verification and reporting to allotted colleges;

Round 1:

  • Register: Pay fees and register on the MCC website.
  • Choices: Fill and lock in preferred colleges & courses.
  • Seat Allotment: Based on rank & choices, get a seat.
  • Results & Documents: Check results, and upload certificates.
  • Reporting: Report to college with documents (upgrade option).

Round 2:

  • Automatic Consideration: No need to register if not allotted in Round 1.
  • Fresh Registration: Register for Round 2 if new or missed Round 1.
  • Choices: Fill in new choices and lock them.
  • Seat Allotment & Reporting: Similar to Round 1.
  • Upgrade: Upgraded candidates need relieving from Round 1 seat.

Round 3:

  • Automatic Consideration: Similar to Round 2.
  • Fresh Registration: Similar to Round 2.
  • Choices & Reporting: Similar to Rounds 1 & 2.

Final Stray Vacancy Round:

  • Register: New registration is required.
  • Elimination: Candidates with seats are eliminated.
  • Vacancy Round: Fill choices for vacant seats.
  • Seat Allotment: Based on merit in this round.
  • Joining: Join the allotted seat or face consequences.

Step 5: Seat Allotment Process for the Rounds 

Here’s how seat allotment process works;

Common Steps for All Rounds:

  • Choices Locked: After the choice filling window closes, your choices are locked.
  • Rank Processing: Your NEET score and category are used to calculate your rank.
  • Seat Allocation Algorithm: Seats are allocated based on a pre-defined algorithm considering:
  1. Your rank in the NEET Exam
  2. Your locked choices
  3. Seat availability in your chosen colleges and courses
  4. Reservation categories
  • Seat Allotment Results: Results are announced on the official website (MCC for AIQ, state websites for state quota).

Seat Acceptance:

If Allotted:

  • Download your allotment letter.
  • Upload required documents within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Report to the allotted college with original documents for physical verification.

Not Allotted:

  • Wait for the next round or consider the Stray Vacancy Round (if applicable).

Step 6: Upgradations

  • Only applicable if you were allotted a seat in Round 1 or 2.
  • Not possible in the Final Stray Vacancy Round.

  • Check Upgradation Option: After each round's result, see if upgradation is allowed in the next round.
  • New Choices (Optional): If allowed, you can add or modify your choices for upgrade during the specified window.
  • Locking: Lock your final choices for an upgrade before the deadline.
  • Upgradation Results: Wait for the next round's seat allotment results.
  • Upgraded or Not Upgraded:
  1. Upgraded: You'll receive an allotment letter for the new seat. Follow the acceptance steps (document upload, reporting) at the new college.
  2. Not Upgraded: You retain your previous seat allocation.

Steps 7: Reporting to Allotted Colleges 

Once you're allotted a seat in your desired college through NEET Counselling, it's time to secure your spot! Here's a simplified breakdown of the reporting process:

Steps:

  • Download Allotment Letter: Access and download your official seat allotment letter from the MCC website (for AIQ) or your state counseling authority's website.
  • Document Verification: Prepare all required documents as mentioned in the allotment letter and official guidelines. These typically include:
  1. Admit card, scorecard, mark sheets, certificates
  2. Proof of identity and date of birth
  3. Category certificate (if applicable)
  4. Allotment letter
  5. Photocopies of all documents
  • Reporting Deadline: Strictly adhere to the reporting deadline specified in your allotment letter. Late reporting can lead to cancellation of your seat.
  • Physical Reporting: Visit the allotted college in person within the stipulated timeframe. Carry the original documents for verification.
  • Document Verification at College: College authorities will verify your documents and confirm your admission.
  • Fee Payment: Pay the necessary fees as per the college's instructions.
  • Seat Confirmation: Upon successful document verification and fee payment, your seat in the college is confirmed.
