Karnataka NEET Counselling 2024 is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to medical and dental courses in prestigious and prominent medical and dental colleges of Karnataka State. With over 70 medical colleges and 48 dental colleges, the Karnataka NEET Counselling offer over 18308 and 2180  medical and dental seats simultaneously. Karnataka Examinations Authority as the counselling conducting authority for the NEET counselling ensures that counselling is fair and transparent approach to the admission process while regulating various aspects such as eligibility criteria, rounds of counselling curriculum etc.

The counselling will be held in four consecutive round namely Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up round and Stray Vacancy Round which will be Optional in case there any vancant seats remaining. The Counselling follows the typical approach toward the steps such as the Registration, Choice filling and Locking, Merit list, Rounds of the Counselling, Seat allottment, Document Verificarion and Reporting to Colleges. The counselling will start with the official announcement made by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) after the NEET 2024 Exam Result released by National Testing Agency on the behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)

The Karanataka Exam Authority is responsible for the 85 % medical and dental seat admissions while medical counselling committee does counselling for the 15% medical and dental seat admission through the All India Quta (AIQ).

Karnataka NEET Counselling 2024 Procedure 

Counselling Registration 

Step 1: Online Registration

  • Visit http://kea.kar.nic.in and select "UGNEET-2024 Online Registration".
  • Enter all your details carefully and accurately.

Step 2: Login and Details Entry

  • Use your User ID and Password to log in.
  • Enter your details stage-by-stage, ensuring everything is correct.

Step 3: Uploading Documents

Upload scanned copies of:

  1. Recent passport-size color photograph (JPG/JPEG)
  2. Signature (JPG/JPEG)
  3. Left Hand Thumb Impression (JPG/JPEG)

Step 4: Review and Declaration

  • Review your application thoroughly on a draft printout.
  • Make any necessary changes.
  • Select the declaration checkbox if everything is correct.

Step 5: Fee Payment

  • Follow the payment gateway instructions to pay the registration fees.

Step 6: Confirmation and Printout

  • Take a printout of your completed application form (A4 size).
  • Keep this printout for document verification.

Cousnelling Process 

Step 1: Registration (June - July):

  • Mark your calendars! Visit http://kea.kar.nic.in: during the announced registration window and select "UGNEET-2024 Online Registration".
  • Meticulously enter all your details and pay the registration fee based on your category (INR 500-5500).
  • Upload scanned copies of your passport-sized photo, signature, and left thumb impression in JPG/JPEG format. Remember, clarity matters!
  • Before submitting, carefully review your application form and print a copy for your records.

Step 2: Document Verification (Schedule to be announced):

  • Stay tuned to the KEA website for the verification schedule announcement.
  • Ensure you have all the original documents mentioned for your category readily available.
  • Attend the verification process and obtain your verification slip and crucial secret key.

Step 3:  Option Entry (After seat matrix release):

  • This is where your strategic thinking comes in! After the seat matrix is released, head back to http://kea.kar.nic.in: to enter your options.
  • Carefully choose the colleges and courses you desire, prioritizing them based on your preferences and eligibility. Remember, you can edit and add options until the deadline, so utilize this flexibility wisely.

Step 4: Seat Allotment:

  • The seat allotment process for Karnataka NEET Counselling 2024 will be conducted in three phases:
    • Phase 1: This phase will focus on allotting seats to candidates belonging to special categories such as Persons with Disabilities (PWD), NCC, and Sports quota. It will be followed by the allotment of seats to General Merit candidates.
    • Phase 2: This phase will be exclusive to reserved category candidates.
    • Phase 3: This phase will be open to all categories, including General Merit and remaining reserved seats.
  • The seat allotment will be purely based on your NEET rank and the options you entered during the option entry process. A mock allotment will be conducted before the actual allotment to help you assess your chances and revise your options if needed.

Here's a step-by-step guide to the seat allotment process:

  • Check the seat allotment result: The seat allotment result will be declared on the KEA website on the dates specified for each phase.
  • Download your allotment letter: If you are allotted a seat, download your allotment letter from the KEA website.
  • Pay the seat acceptance fee: Pay the seat acceptance fee online within the stipulated timeframe. This fee varies depending on your category.
  • Report to the allotted college: After paying the seat acceptance fee, report to the allotted college with all the required documents within the specified deadline. The list of required documents will be available on the KEA website.

Step 5: Reporting to Colleges:

Once you are allotted a seat in a college, you must report to the college in person within the stipulated deadline to confirm your admission. Here's what you need to do during the reporting process:

  • Carry all required documents: Make sure you carry all the required documents, including your allotment letter, admit card, mark sheet, caste certificate (if applicable), medical fitness certificate, and any other documents specified by the college.
  • Document verification: The college will verify your documents and original certificates.
  • Pay the admission fee: Pay the admission fee as prescribed by the college.
  • Complete the admission formalities: Complete all the admission formalities as required by the college.

  •  Final printout of the KEA Online Application Form.
  • UG NEET 2023 Admission Ticket
  • UGNEET-2023 Score Card
  • SSLC / 10th Standard Marks Card of the candidate
  • 2nd PUC / 12th Standard Marks Card of the candidate
  • Study Certificate countersigned by the concerned BEO / DDPI
  • TWO recent passport-size photographs. 

NEET Counselling 2024 Counseling Procees  (15% AIQ)

NEET Counselling 2024 Primerily consist of Registrations, Choice filling, Choice Locking, Seat Allottement, Commenceme of Round of Counselling, Upgradtion and Reporting to Colleges which very Step to follow ensuring the smooth and effective way to complete counselling and get admitted to your desired colleges and making your dream come true as medical aspirant, Here’re some about steps to follow during Counselling Process;

Step 1: Registration 

  • First and Foremost step to follow for Counselling is registration, Visit to the Medical Counselling Committee’s official website (Click Here).
  • Then Locate the Registration link named ‘UG Counselling Registrations’ and Click on it
  • After registration link has opened carefully filled up the registration form mentioning you personal details, academic details and other important details.
  • After filling out registration form, make the payment for registration in make payment Section using the debit card or UPI.
  • Once the payment is done, you will have the ‘preview’ where you can preview the registration and check whether details you have provided are correct or Not. Once you checked all the details you have provided click on ‘okay’. Take print out of registration or download pdf form for future references 
  • Once registration is done click on the log out from the registration and move onward to choice filling Sections 

Step 2: Choice Filling 

  • Upon registration the next step to follow is ‘Choice Filling’ where you can prefer list of Medical and dental colleges of your choice ensuring the best options for medical journey 
  • After registration. Login again for the choice filling  with details you have provided during registration.
  • Once you have logged in to choice filling, now you can fillied up choices for list of collehges which are best suited for you. 
  • There is no limit for the list of choices you can select.
  • Onces the choice filling is done move on to Choice locking section.

Step 3: Choice Locking 

  • Once you selected all your perferred choice move on to the Choic Locking section ensuring that choices you have selected will be used in first round of NEET Counselling.
  • Once you checked throughly through your selected perference, start locking all the colleges.
  • Once you have locked all the choices, you can’t change the perference untill next round of counselling so carefully lock the choices

Step 4: Rounds of Counselling 

 The counselling for medical and dental will conducted with four rounds of Counselling while each round follows typical steps such as registration (for first round only. Auto Consideration for the other rounds), Choice filling and locking, seat allottment, result and document verification and reporting to allotted colleges;

Round 1:

  • Register: Pay fees and register on MCC website.
  • Choices: Fill and lock preferred colleges & courses.
  • Seat Allotment: Based on rank & choices, get a seat.
  • Results & Documents: Check result, upload certificates.
  • Reporting: Report to college with documents (upgrade option).

Round 2:

  • Automatic Consideration: No need to register if not allotted in Round 1.
  • Fresh Registration: Register for Round 2 if new or missed Round 1.
  • Choices: Fill new choices and lock them.
  • Seat Allotment & Reporting: Similar to Round 1.
  • Upgrade: Upgraded candidates need relieving from Round 1 seat.

Round 3:

  • Automatic Consideration: Similar to Round 2.
  • Fresh Registration: Similar to Round 2.
  • Choices & Reporting: Similar to Round 1 & 2.

Final Stray Vacancy Round:

  • Register: New registration required.
  • Elimination: Candidates with seats are eliminated.
  • Vacancy Round: Fill choices for vacant seats.
  • Seat Allotment: Based on merit in this round.
  • Joining: Join allotted seat or face consequences.

Step 5: Seat Allottment Process for the Rounds 

Here’s how seat allottment process works;

Common Steps for All Rounds:

  • Choices Locked: After the choice filling window closes, your choices are locked.
  • Rank Processing: Your NEET score and category are used to calculate your rank.
  • Seat Allocation Algorithm: Seats are allocated based on a pre-defined algorithm considering:
  1. Your rank in NEET Exam
  2. Your locked choices
  3. Seat availability in your chosen colleges and courses
  4. Reservation categories
  • Seat Allotment Results: Results are announced on the official website (MCC for AIQ, state websites for state quota).

Seat Acceptance:

If Allotted:

  • Download your allotment letter.
  • Upload required documents within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Report to the allotted college with original documents for physical verification.

Not Allotted:

  • Wait for the next round or consider Stray Vacancy Round (if applicable).

Step 6: Upgradations

Eligibility:

  • Only applicable if you were allotted a seat in Round 1 or 2.
  • Not possible in the Final Stray Vacancy Round.

Steps:

  • Check Upgradation Option: After each round's result, see if upgradation is allowed in the next round.
  • New Choices (Optional): If allowed, you can add or modify your choices for upgradation during the specified window.
  • Locking: Lock your final choices for upgradation before the deadline.
  • Upgradation Results: Wait for the next round's seat allotment results.
  • Upgraded or Not Upgraded:
  1. Upgraded: You'll receive an allotment letter for the new seat. Follow the acceptance steps (document upload, reporting) at the new college.
  2. Not Upgraded: You retain your previous seat allocation.

Steps 7: Reporting to Allotted Colleges 

Once you're allotted a seat in your desired college through NEET Counselling, it's time to secure your spot! Here's a simplified breakdown of the reporting process:

Steps:

  • Download Allotment Letter: Access and download your official seat allotment letter from the MCC website (for AIQ) or your state counselling authority's website.
  • Document Verification: Prepare all required documents as mentioned in the allotment letter and official guidelines. These typically include:
  1. Admit card, scorecard, mark sheets, certificates
  2. Proof of identity and date of birth
  3. Category certificate (if applicable)
  4. Allotment letter
  5. Photocopies of all documents
  • Reporting Deadline: Strictly adhere to the reporting deadline specified in your allotment letter. Late reporting can lead to cancellation of your seat.
  • Physical Reporting: Visit the allotted college in person within the stipulated timeframe. Carry the original documents for verification.
  • Document Verification at College: College authorities will verify your documents and confirm your admission.
  • Fee Payment: Pay the necessary fees as per the college's instructions.
  • Seat Confirmation: Upon successful document verification and fee payment, your seat in the college is confirmed.
