The Bihar NEET Counsellng proposed over 3984 seats for medical colleges and over 380 seats in dental colleges. Following NEET 2024 Exam result the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board will announcing the counselling schedule on the authority’s official website. The Counselling usually follows the simple course of steps which includes Registrations, Choice filling and locking, Merit list, Seat Allotment, document verification, neccesssary formalties and reporting to colleges.

Bihar NEET Counselling 2024 Procedure

Counselling Registrations 

Step 1: Registration:

  • Visit the official website (https://bceceboard.bihar.gov.in/).
  • Click on "New Registration" and enter your NEET 2024 roll number and date of birth.
  • Verify your details and provide your email ID and mobile number.
  • You'll receive an OTP for verification. Enter it and complete the registration.
  • Remember your email ID and password, as you'll need them later.

Step 2: Personal Information:

  • Log in to your account using your email ID and password.
  • Enter your personal details like name, address, parents' details, etc.
  • Ensure all information is accurate before saving.

Step 3: Upload Photo and Signature:

  • Upload a scanned copy of your passport-sized photograph (same as NEET application).
  • Upload your scanned signature in Hindi and English.

Step 4: Educational Information:

  • Enter your educational details like Class 10, 12, and NEET results.
  • Ensure marks and percentages are accurate.

Step 5: Preview and Payment:

  • Review your application form carefully.
  • Make corrections if needed before finalizing.
  • Pay the counselling fee and security deposit as per your category.
  • Fees are non-refundable.

Step 6: Download Application Form:

Counselling Process 

Four rounds of counseling are conducted: Mop-up, Round 1, Round 2, and Stray Vacancy. Mop-up is done offline, but rounds one and two are done online. Below is an explanation of every phase:

Registration:

Ensure you have a scanned copy of your passport-sized photograph (same as NEET application), signature in Hindi and English, and relevant documents ready for upload

Choice Filling:

  • After successful registration, fill your preferred colleges and courses in order of priority within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Carefully review your choices before submission as changes might not be possible later.

Round 1 Seat Allotment:

  • Check the seat allotment result online on the designated date.

Allocated Seat:

  • Accept and Report: If you accept the allotted seat, report physically to the designated reporting center for document verification within the specified timeline.
  • Upgrade: If you opt to upgrade for Round 2, choose "Yes" during document verification. Remember, this decision is final, and you cannot leave the upgraded seat if allotted.
  • Free Exit: You can choose to take a free exit if you don't wish to join the allotted seat or opt for an upgrade.
  • Not Allotted a Seat: Don't lose hope! You'll remain eligible for subsequent rounds.

Round 2 Seat Allotment:

  • This round offers fresh choice filling for eligible candidates who didn't get a seat in Round 1, those who took a free exit, or those with upgraded choices.
  • Follow the same procedure as Round 1 for reporting and document verification if you're allotted a seat.

Mop-up Round and Stray Vacancy Round:

  • These rounds address unfilled seats from previous rounds.
  • Mop-up is conducted offline, requiring fresh registration and participation.
  • Stray Vacancy round happens online if seats remain vacant after Mop-up.

  • Passing Certificate / Mark sheet / Admit Card of Matric / equivalent exam.

NEET Counselling 2024 Primerily consist of Registrations, Choice filling, Choice Locking, Seat Allottement, Commenceme of Round of Counselling, Upgradtion and Reporting to Colleges which very Step to follow ensuring the smooth and effective way to complete counselling and get admitted to your desired colleges and making your dream come true as medical aspirant, Here’re some about steps to follow during Counselling Process;

Step 1: Registration 

  • First and Foremost step to follow for Counselling is registration, Visit to the Medical Counselling Committee’s official website (Click Here).
  • Then Locate the Registration link named ‘UG Counselling Registrations’ and Click on it
  • After registration link has opened carefully filled up the registration form mentioning you personal details, academic details and other important details.
  • After filling out registration form, make the payment for registration in make payment Section using the debit card or UPI.
  • Once the payment is done, you will have the ‘preview’ where you can preview the registration and check whether details you have provided are correct or Not. Once you checked all the details you have provided click on ‘okay’. Take print out of registration or download pdf form for future references 
  • Once registration is done click on the log out from the registration and move onward to choice filling Sections 

Step 2: Choice Filling 

  • Upon registration the next step to follow is ‘Choice Filling’ where you can prefer list of Medical and dental colleges of your choice ensuring the best options for medical journey 
  • After registration. Login again for the choice filling  with details you have provided during registration.
  • Once you have logged in to choice filling, now you can fillied up choices for list of collehges which are best suited for you. 
  • There is no limit for the list of choices you can select.
  • Onces the choice filling is done move on to Choice locking section.

Step 3: Choice Locking 

  • Once you selected all your perferred choice move on to the Choic Locking section ensuring that choices you have selected will be used in first round of NEET Counselling.
  • Once you checked throughly through your selected perference, start locking all the colleges.
  • Once you have locked all the choices, you can’t change the perference untill next round of counselling so carefully lock the choices

Step 4: Rounds of Counselling 

 The counselling for medical and dental will conducted with four rounds of Counselling while each round follows typical steps such as registration (for first round only. Auto Consideration for the other rounds), Choice filling and locking, seat allottment, result and document verification and reporting to allotted colleges;

Round 1:

  • Register: Pay fees and register on MCC website.
  • Choices: Fill and lock preferred colleges & courses.
  • Seat Allotment: Based on rank & choices, get a seat.
  • Results & Documents: Check result, upload certificates.
  • Reporting: Report to college with documents (upgrade option).

Round 2:

  • Automatic Consideration: No need to register if not allotted in Round 1.
  • Fresh Registration: Register for Round 2 if new or missed Round 1.
  • Choices: Fill new choices and lock them.
  • Seat Allotment & Reporting: Similar to Round 1.
  • Upgrade: Upgraded candidates need relieving from Round 1 seat.

Round 3:

  • Automatic Consideration: Similar to Round 2.
  • Fresh Registration: Similar to Round 2.
  • Choices & Reporting: Similar to Round 1 & 2.

Final Stray Vacancy Round:

  • Register: New registration required.
  • Elimination: Candidates with seats are eliminated.
  • Vacancy Round: Fill choices for vacant seats.
  • Seat Allotment: Based on merit in this round.
  • Joining: Join allotted seat or face consequences.

Step 5: Seat Allottment Process for the Rounds 

Here’s how seat allottment process works;

Common Steps for All Rounds:

  • Choices Locked: After the choice filling window closes, your choices are locked.
  • Rank Processing: Your NEET score and category are used to calculate your rank.
  • Seat Allocation Algorithm: Seats are allocated based on a pre-defined algorithm considering:
  1. Your rank in NEET Exam
  2. Your locked choices
  3. Seat availability in your chosen colleges and courses
  4. Reservation categories
  • Seat Allotment Results: Results are announced on the official website (MCC for AIQ, state websites for state quota).

Seat Acceptance:

If Allotted:

  • Download your allotment letter.
  • Upload required documents within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Report to the allotted college with original documents for physical verification.

Not Allotted:

  • Wait for the next round or consider Stray Vacancy Round (if applicable).

Step 6: Upgradations

Steps 7: Reporting to Allotted Colleges

  • Download Allotment Letter: Access and download your official seat allotment letter from the MCC website (for AIQ) or your state counselling authority's website.
