In a recent notice (dated 29/09/2024), Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released much awaited NEET UG Counselling date, which will start from 14th August 2024. Candidates will have to do the registration on official website (https://mcc.nic.in/) to participate in online NEET UG Counselling 2024.
The counselling process includes several steps like registration, choice filling, and locking, document verification, seat allotment, and reporting. Candidates are advised to have their documents ready in advance for the counseling process. The counselling authority conducts NEET counseling for admission to All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, and ESIC colleges.
This counselling will determine candidates admission to MBBS & BDS courses in India. State counseling authorities will conduct counseling for 85% of seats in government medical colleges and 100% of seats in private medical colleges. Meanwhile, the MCC will conduct the remaining 15% of seats from the All India Quota.

Who are eligible to Participate in NEET UG Counselling?
Candidates who have obtained 50 percent marks in the NEET UG 2024 exam are eligible to participate in the NEET UG 2024 counseling. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive relaxation in the qualifying percentage. Physically handicapped candidates will require 40 percentile, while unreserved physically handicapped candidates need 45 percentile to qualify.
NEET Counselling Registration
Interested candidate with eligible NEET rank must be ready with all the required documents for counselling registration. NEET Counselling will be conducted by respective state conducting authority for 85% seats in government & private colleges and counselling for 15% government & private colleges seats will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee.
The very first and important step to participate in the counselling is candidates registration, if student want to take admission under state quota then candidate must do the registration on respective domicile state official website and for admission under All India quota, students needs to do the registration on MCC official website. NEET Counselling process includes registration, choice filling, counselling rounds, seats allotment, etc.
This year there are 1,09,145 MBBS seats and 27,868 BDS seats in medical and dental colleges in India. The entire procedure is overseen by the National Medical Commission and the National Dental Commission, ensuring that admissions are fair and based on merit.

How to Apply for MCC NEET 2024 Counselling Registration: Step-by-Step Process
To participate in the NEET UG 2024 Counselling, follow these steps to successfully register and select your preferred colleges and courses:
- Step 1: Visit the Official MCC Website: Open your web browser and go to the MCC website at https://mcc.nic.in/.
- Step 2: Access the NEET UG Counselling Registration Link: Look for the menu icon on the homepage and click on it to open the navigation menu.
- Step 3: Choose “UG Medical”: From the menu options, select “UG Medical” to proceed to the undergraduate medical section.
- Step 4: Locate the “Important Links” Section: Scroll through the page to find the “Important Links” section and click on it.
